Terms of Service
Effective July 5, 2026 · Last updated July 6, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and BankStatementWise for use of our bank-statement conversion service. Please read them — they cover what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you.
1Agreement to these terms
“BankStatementWise”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the operator of the BankStatementWise service (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you agree to these terms for that organization and confirm you are authorized to do so.
The Service is intended for business and professional use by people aged 18 or over. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2The service
BankStatementWise converts bank-statement documents into structured, exportable data. For each statement, we reconcile the transactions against the statement’s own opening and closing balances and flag any rows we are not fully confident about, so errors are easy to find and check.
3Your account
You can try the Service without an account. To convert more and keep your results in a workspace, you create a free account and verify your email address. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
4Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload documents you do not own or are not authorized to process, or that infringe anyone’s rights or violate any law;
- use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, resell, or create a competing service from the Service or any part of it;
- interfere with, overload, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, or circumvent its usage limits, security, or access controls;
- use automated means to scrape or bulk-extract from the Service outside of features we provide for that purpose.
5Your documents & results
You keep all rights to the documents you upload and to the results we produce from them. You give us only the limited permission needed to store and process your documents to operate the Service and make your results available to you. You are responsible for having the right to upload each document and to have it processed.
6Accuracy & your review
Reconciliation and confidence flags are designed to make mistakes easy to catch — but no automated conversion is perfect. Software-produced results can contain errors, including on documents that are low-quality, unusual, or incomplete.
7Plans, billing & cancellation
The Service is currently free to use. If we introduce paid plans, we will describe the pricing before you are charged and will not charge you without your agreement.
Where paid plans apply, they are billed in advance in U.S. dollars, exclusive of any applicable taxes. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and fees already paid for a period are not refundable for partial periods or unused capacity, except where a refund is required by law.
8Our intellectual property
The Service — including its software, design, and the BankStatementWise name and brand — belongs to us and our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these terms. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them without restriction or obligation to you.
9Availability & changes
The Service is provided on an “as available” basis and is being actively developed. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may set or adjust usage limits, to keep the Service reliable and sustainable. Where a change materially reduces the Service, we will make reasonable efforts to give notice.
10Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate or complete. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you.
11Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BankStatementWise will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify BankStatementWise against claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these terms, or your uploading of documents you did not have the right to process.
13Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service. When your account ends, you can export or delete your data; the provisions that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnification) will continue to apply.
14Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which BankStatementWise is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us first so we can try to resolve the matter. You and BankStatementWise agree to bring any dispute that cannot be resolved informally in the courts of that jurisdiction.
15Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. When we make a material change, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, give notice. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
